Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 3 July 2026
1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) defines the rules of conduct for all Users of HiringTree. It supplements our Terms of Service and applies to all Workers, Agencies, Companies, and their representatives.
Violations of this AUP may result in content removal, account suspension, permanent ban, and reporting to relevant authorities.
2. Lawful Use
You must use the Platform only for lawful purposes. You must not use the Platform to:
- Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
- Facilitate illegal immigration, human trafficking, or forced labour.
- Circumvent labour laws, visa regulations, or recruitment licensing requirements.
- Evade sanctions, export controls, or anti-money-laundering regulations.
3. Honest and Accurate Information
- Job listings must accurately describe the role, salary, working conditions, accommodation, visa arrangements, and any costs borne by the employer. You must not omit material terms or use misleading language.
- Worker profiles must accurately represent skills, experience, and qualifications. Workers must not fabricate credentials.
- Organisation profiles must use the legal entity name, correct registration details, and valid licence information.
- You must not create fake accounts, impersonate other Users, or use false identities.
4. Ethical Recruitment Standards
All Users must adhere to the following ethical standards:
- No worker fees. Workers must never be asked to pay for registration, application, profile access, or any recruitment service — whether on or off the Platform.
- No document retention. Agencies and Companies must not confiscate, withhold, or demand surrender of worker passports, identity documents, or travel documents.
- No contract substitution. Job terms presented on the Platform must match the actual terms of employment. Changing terms after a worker accepts or departs is prohibited.
- No debt bondage. Workers must not be placed in situations where they are required to work to repay recruitment debts or advances.
- Freedom of movement. Workers must be free to leave their place of employment outside working hours. Restrictions on movement are prohibited.
These standards are aligned with the ILO General Principles and Operational Guidelines for Fair Recruitment and the Employer Pays Principle. See our full Ethical Recruitment Policy.
5. Communication Standards
When using the Platform’s messaging features, you must not:
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse other Users.
- Send spam, unsolicited marketing, or repetitive messages.
- Share contact information for the purpose of bypassing Platform workflows or token controls.
- Use discriminatory, hateful, or offensive language based on race, ethnicity, religion, caste, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.
- Solicit personal financial information, passwords, or other sensitive data.
- Send misleading job offers or interview invitations with no genuine intent to hire.
6. Data and Security
- You must not scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Platform using automated tools, bots, or scripts.
- You must not attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorised to access.
- You must not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Platform or its infrastructure.
- You must not upload viruses, malware, or any code designed to disrupt Platform operations.
- You must not share login credentials or allow third parties to access the Platform using your account.
- Worker data obtained through profile unlocks or applications must be used only for the specific hiring opportunity. Storing, selling, or sharing this data with third parties is prohibited.
7. Intellectual Property
- You must not copy, reproduce, or distribute Platform content, design elements, or code.
- You must not use the HiringTree name, logo, or branding in any way that suggests endorsement or partnership without our written permission.
- You must not re-publish worker profiles, voice recordings, or match scores outside the Platform.
8. Reporting Violations
If you encounter behaviour that violates this AUP, please report it to report@hiringtree.net with as much detail as possible. All reports are reviewed within 48 hours. We take retaliation against reporters seriously and will protect the identity of anyone who reports a violation in good faith.
9. Enforcement
We may take any of the following actions in response to AUP violations:
- Warning — for first-time minor violations.
- Content removal — removal of offending job posts, messages, or profile content.
- Temporary suspension — account access restricted for a defined period.
- Permanent ban — account permanently terminated with no right to re-register.
- Law enforcement referral — where violations involve suspected criminal activity, including trafficking, fraud, or labour exploitation.
The severity of enforcement depends on the nature, frequency, and impact of the violation. Worker safety violations are treated with zero tolerance.
